Los Olivos Campground

We really enjoyed coming into a campground with trees grass and sunshine. And we finally met Konstantinos and Julia from Washington State. They travel in a 25 foot long Dodge Sprinter, an early model from the time Dodge and Mercedes Benz were cooperating before Fiat bought Dodge. They travel with two cats and lots of curiousity.

They emigrated to Seattle from Russia 15 years ago to follow jobs they were offered in the US. I’ve been following them on Instagram for months, since we were in Cebtral America and I enjoy their photography and their pursuit of the esoteric. We have followed in their footsteps as you’ll see if you check their instagram called roadside picnic. I expect t we’ll meet them again in Patagonia.

We are saying goodbye to young Florian and Cora who are shipping their Volkswagen back to Germany from Uruguay in early December. They have to speed travel ahead of us and make good use of their van heater in the cold spring weeks ahead in southern Argentina, too cold for us who have time.

And here are a few pictures I took on my early morning strolls with Rusty through a sleeping campground.

Not brilliant facilities and for $17 a night they should be better. And cold showers are hard to take in this climate. I took one but it was teeth chattering cold.

The view outside the campground gates:
