Secure Certificate

I have heard that a not secure message has popped up for some readers. I have no idea how to reach those off put by this but after some struggle GoDaddy thinks the issue is fixed. Hyper text transfer protocol websites get the secure “s” and I’ve paid for that for the past two years and have it for the next three but something slipped through the cracks at the website hosting. I’m told it’s fixed. Properly this time.

Highway Scenes Colombia

Lunch stop.

Absurd amounts of food for less than five bucks. To go boxes mandatory.

The complementary soup first course is a Colombian specialty and is sufficient unto itself. We pick at the main course and box it for dinner marveling at Colombians’ capacity.

We chose this modest spot as it has off street parking, as good a reason as any.

The owner seemed grumpy but was probably just shy and opened up when we spoke Spanish. She ended up wanting the inevitable tour.

Calarcá, Colombia. On iOverlander there are numerous reports of motorcyclists trying to interfere with passing foreigners trying to convince them to stop but we saw nothing like that.

A police checkpoint where we actually got stopped and inspected.

A curious young cop, friendly efficient and apparently checking for drugs. He never asked to see our papers.

Then the curious gas station attendants asked for a tour. Colombians rarely get to see an RV.

Sugarcane country.

Some roadside shopping leads to …the van tour of course.

The major Colombian food groups: grilled corn arepa, huge chunk of meat, soft fried sweet plantain. A couple of sauces on the side, one hot one not and not a green vegetable in sight. Lunch and dinner in one.

Rainy season.

Bamboo transport.

The colorful streets of Filandia:

Finally at rest at Steel Horse camping alongside two motorcyclists touring from Ecuador:
