Blogger Screws Up- Again

Apologies are owed for the cretins at blogspot.com. I am finding the spell checker isn't working at all, failing to spot the errors and highlighting instead random collections of properly spelled words...Also the picture dragger feature is on the blink so I am forced to either cut-and-paste the pictures in HTML mode which is headache inducing, or I have to download the pictures as I write, from the end of the essay back to the beginning which taxes even my wordiness. I have tried to alert the imbeciles to these problems but we are entering the second week of composer's nightmare. So for the time being my blog may look more ragged than usual and my thoughts may not flow with their customary verve...
I live in hope that blogspot will one day hire some responsible adults. Until then I struggle on as I am lazy and a technophobia and have no desire to figure out my own website.

Typepad wants to love you. A deep, sustained, warm kind of love. You do have to give them money though. But don't worry, it's still legal.

I'm sure blogspot will iron out soon enough. At least, I hope so.

Mr Conchscooter:

I didn't know there was an easy way. I had to learn how to HTML tag the photos and insert them as I merrily type my fingers away. But then I host all my photos on either Webshots or Photobucket and have to manually re-size all the photos then upload and click on each individual image to resize to 600 pixels then html code them to their final resting place.

and quit your grumbling, we love you . . .

I pay blogger 136 renminbi a year. Grrr.
Windows Live Writer huh? I am a dork so I like how windows makes things work, even though computer literates hate Microsoft.
I love you too bobscoot but posting 20 pictures a day in order by cutting and pasting meaningless lines of letters and symbols sucks wind. I hope trhe half wits at blogspot have some sort of spy mechanism that associates blogspot with cretin or imbecille or troglodyte or something and they get the vibe that all is not well.

Dear Badger:

All seriousness aside, take a look at this article from the New York Times. It is announcing two new versions of an annotated version of the “Wind In The Willows.” Yet one of the versions, by Sarah Auger, claims to recognize strong sexual overtones between several of the characters. (Not Toad, however.) The article can be found at:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/10/books/10willows.html

The annotator who does not claim the little animals are diddling each other is Seth Lerer.

Amazon is listing this version at a very reasonable price. I’m ordering mine today. That link is:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0674034473/ref=s9_simx_gw_s0_p14_t1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0H2H0SGBA9Y5R6C2E9FJ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846

I love this book and do not have an annotated version in my collection. The same article refers to an annotated version of the Sherlock Holms stories. These are not so cheap. I am ordering one of these too. (The complete short stories.)

I just thought you might be interested. If not, disregard this message with my apologies.

Fondest regards,
Jack

The NYT does a good job of deflating the buggers. Homo eroticism indeed. Is nothing sacred? Well, thats a stupid question. I think if I had the energy I would put out a fatwa on these sons of dogs who annotate the wind in the willows.
I had planned a trip today but the weathyer sucks. In the keys no less.

Allen Madding calls them weather guessers. Looking out my tinted windows today I've seen wind gusts thrashing the palm fronds and 100 percent gray skies all day. Yeah it may well be 90 degrees out but there is no sunshine and enough wind to keep my skiff docked and my Bonneville parked. I might brave the winds to go to parrotdise for my latest discovery in nectar- smithwicks- and a slice of fish. Wow big batchelor nights in the lower keys.

why yes I do. When my daughter's mother was expecting, I told a good friend and OB/GYN Doctor that they were much like the weather guessers. They made lots of predicitions (due dates) and were always wrong. He didn't argue. When my daughter was born, he had predicted 4 incorrect due dates. At the same time WALB TV 10 weather guesser extrodinaire had been wrong 98.5% of the month.

I'd love to have a job where I could be wrong that much and still draw a pay check.

Off to let the wife check out the neighborhood you blogged :)

Just when I felt I was getting very competent at loading pictures in a reverse manner, you ae now telling me that they might fix this? If that happens I'll have to change my routine all over again. What a pisser!

We had a 10% chance of rain last Wednesday, which means for the forecasters that it will not rain, but in the remote case that it does, the forecasters butts will be covered. At 8:30 that evening a storm developed and by 10:00 pm it hailed like you can't believe. There was a baseball game that night and almost all of the cars in the parking lot had all their windows busted out from the hail as well as dents in the metal.
Insurance companies just love Kansas!

I have been using ieSpell for Internet Explorer for years and have found it quite useful. You can use to to spell check in any forms just like this comment box. After the install you just right click your mouse inside the box and select Check Spelling.

Torch! It works! I owe you one free rude comment. Ha ha. Joke you are always too polite.

cpa, it is quite true that the folks chosing to attempt to live in Kansas catch a lot of hail. I'm guessing there had to be tornadic activity somewhere close to the baseball game.

Enjoy the cottonwoods

Spellcheckers: bah humbug! On the other hand, I put out far fewer words than you do.

Speaking of such, I've produced a mighty long (in my metric) response to your comment on J. H. Pestalozzi. If you have time during one of your shifts, you could be interesting in checking out the links I've suggested in my comment here. In case the clickable link doesn't work for you, here is the gory version:

Prior to the arrival of the Internet a scatter gun curiosity was always a hindrance. Nowadays it's just a very good excuse to trail around the world adding to my store of obscure tidbits. Gory versions are alwys preferred.
