We baked some soda bread, we made potato latkes to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah. Rusty hung out declining to go for a walk. He knows what he wants and I don’t force him. It was a good day. We read books and swam at great length in lovely warm calm waters. Friday is definitely our last day before we drive south to look for the vet.
I got dinged on the head by a half chewed West Indian almond. It was dropped not by a squirrel but by a macaw.
They squawk very loudly and fly like they are not built for flight but can only manage to stay airborne by some serious ferocious wing flapping.
In a tree they look quite attractive.
Other than getting bombarded by parrots it was another lovely day at the beach.
Air fried potato latkes are delicious it turns out. Crispy and not greasy. Best Jewish food ever.

Wonderful photos. I’ve been avoiding an air fryer as they take a lot of space and use a lot of power. At least those are my excuses…
I stretched that macaw image and noticed that the bird is banded- interesting! Well done. And great image resolutiom to be able to zoom in that far... wow!
An air fryer is bulky but it’s light weight and is all electronic so no buttons stick out. Layne was remarking how versatile it is, frying baking and cooking just about anything you want. The electrical use is less than you think. Hits 126 amps on start up but it’s not constant. I don’t miss the toaster oven or the Instapot at all.
The cabers I used for the birds was my Panasonic G 95 with a 24-140 micro four thirds travel zoom. It’s a great camera inexpensive and easy to carry.
In our small home; it works as a toaster, an oven, and a fryer. So it’s worth the space. By the way, we have the smallest version.
It really is an amazing tool.
