People Watching

I found myself downtown with thirty minutes to burn so I hiked off to Mallory Square to take some pictures:I have often pondered whether or not I could ever do a wordless essay,...so I'm guessing this is as close as I'll ever get:For those that don't know, sunsets are celebrated at Mallory Square each evening at the western limits of the southernmost city:
...and people gather to watch. The tradition was started by an ironically inclined Tennessee Williams and friends and it has evolved into an organized street fair.
These pictures ignore the performers and focus, in difficult lighting, on the people watching the acts:
...juggling, tight rope walkers, musicians and some of the acts must be amazing:
It was a cool evening:
...and the wind was blowing:...but this woman was talking loudly about how she was glad to be back in Florida after moving Up North for a spell, as she checked the jewelry on offer:
One day my beard will resemble this: Some people pretend to behappy even though they are clean shaven.
This woman reminded me of my buddy Giovanni's wife with that school teacher expression on her face of amused disapproval, like when Giovanni and I take off motorcycling:
On the subject of motorcycles, here's the Bonneville parked miles away on Tropical Street:Nothing to do with people watching but I like looking at it.

Dear Sir:

I occasionally do picture-less essays, and I am always amazed when they draw a good response in comments. That Triumph looks great. Some day I'll get a look at the tach.

Fondest regards,

Hold your beath I have scheduled the tach essay for 2/26 and as you are an insomniac 12:01am (Eastern) doesn't seem too early. You are a wordsmith making pictures superfluous. Key west Diary without pictures would be odd.

Your 'wordless essay' has more words than my typical post. Hee hee! But as you say, our blog descriptions pretty much sum up the styles.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. We have been down there a few times. Always amazed at the cat trainer. Is he still there? We have a cat and she trains us.

Sometimes I run out of words too. I just got an idea (don't get many these days) We can let you post up a few pictures, without comments, and we can make up the comments for you. I know that Jack's embellishments will make for interesting reading.

and, like Jack, I've been having trouble sleeping wondering about that Tach too. I don't know how you managed to shift gears without one.

I was at Mallory but standing at the back of the crowds trying to photograph people. As I am 5'06" I couldn't say what they were watching.
Clearly I do post pictures without comments- else I wouldn't have people asking how I shift gears without a tach. Smarty pants, without a tach I keep shuffling the shifter at 60mph to make sure I'm in fifth. Any more comments and I will postpone the tach essay till march and you will run out of breath. As shall I.

People pictures are also silent words, about the subjects in the pictures.
Triumph query, Any unusual problems since you've owned the machine, and why Triumph when you upgraded from the scooter? Did you purchase the machine bare and add te windscreen, bags etc?

You've mentioned taking it north for a major service, any problems and how frequently?

I suffer from diarhea of the keyboard. Sorry. No cure. Reading your short, biting, pieces is a form of therapy.

irondad you have something useful to say. I met a man on a recent expedition and he said to me as he watched me take a picture of Dixie's Folly: "who are you?" "Nobody" I said and he took me at my word, and carried on looking for manatees.
