Randy Acevedo Goes Down

It didn't take the six members of the jury more than a couple of hours to find Randy Acevedo guilty of three felonies of abetting his wife's theft of public funds, and off to jail he went. He since posted $15,000 bail according to the paper and he is free until sentencing at least next month.

I was hoping for an aquittal but the jury has spoken and that's that. In reading the comments at Keysnews.com the anonymous vituperation is flying around full force. I've heard it too from numerous people who think that a guilty verdict is one in the eye for "the Conchs." Lumping people together and make this an us-versus-them is becoming a popular sport in public life around here. At least this case is now closed as far as the schools go. I hope the interim superintendent just appointed can make headway and offer leadership in the face of a school board that has shown none so far.

Greetings from the Hill.

Remember Randall Wade's
flippant remark...
"What's a few hundred thousand
out of eighty million."

Consider that when reading
your estimated tax bill to pay
for bubba embezzlement and
a bureaucracy of Duncedom.

The comment "the pot is calling the kettle black" makes no sense to me in the context of randy Acevedo's conviction. "You've chosen the conch side" is easily explained. Steve Pribamsky is a devious fuck, John Dick is a moron, and those two are being investigated for breaking the sunshine law. Shall I now treat them as guilty? Or shall I wait for the majesty of the law to follow it's inevitable course?
Monday night I plan to speak in support of the presidenbt of FKCC in Marathon against the anonymous smear campaign operated against her (allegedly) by angry conchs. So then I've chosen the outsiders side.
Where does that leave me? Confused or simply trying to follow a belief in decency and truth?
Randy is guilty, Randy is gone. I think he was stupid not crooked but the jury disagrees with me. The jury has spoken Jim Burke is the superintendent and lets hope he can stand up to the corruption of John Padget and his acolytes on the School Board whose agenda isn't clear but does not spell anything good for Monroe County schools as far as I can tell. And I may be wrong. But I am not anonymous, and you are, and you are a coward for it.

You don't have to accept anonymous comments. You choose to do so. I believe anonymous comments are useful, and you agree with me to the extent that you accept anonymous comments on your blog.

I haven't meant to antagonize you. I just find your views difficult to untangle and understand.

Peace.

Randy Acevedo was stupid. He wasn't a crook. The jury has said otherwise. I accept that. I think John Padget, the man Randy defeated by 2 to 1 directly and against Padget's stooge Covan, is manipulating Pribamsky and Dick and Mathewson to cut funding to schools and settle anatagonisms private and political. Randy was a bulwark against that. For all his faults ( principally his inability to hire strong assitants and his inability to say "No!")he was a strong advocate for strong schools; they aren't.
If you attack me anonymously I will take exception to you. You are anonymous, you are a coward and don't give me that Peace shit. I hear it all the time and it doesn't mean anything when you have insulted me.

Randy Acevedo is a piece of Conch Trash. He always was and ever will be just another wannabe pretending in paradise. The problem with the schools down here, the problems with the city government, the county government, any municipal outlet is simply this: there are Southerners involved. If you don't elect anyone born below the Mason-Dixon line then you won't have these problems. Fact.

And there you have it folks, anonymous strikes again, proving conclusively that there is no high ground to run to. Up next: The Battle of Bull Run the Third.
