The Market In Antigua

It’s a block away from Verde Eventos (Green Events, a place to camp or to hold a gathering) and the market is open every day.

Layne enjoys wandering these shopping experiences but I was leashed to the hound so I ended up following Rusty’s nose and weirdly he found lots of fascinating things to sniff among the discarded vegetables.

I have no idea how these rows and rows of vendors make a living but here they are.

I keep him on his leash in these crowded environments and in a city where sidewalks are narrow and traffic is aggressive he stays on his leash outside the campground.

This van offers home delivered vegetables, fruits, chicken and shopping. Give ‘em a call. What Chevrolet van that is…anybody’s guess!

I love the Spanish word for carrots -zanahoria.  So weird sounding. Layne isn’t fond of cooked carrots, she does have her character defects, so I can be considered deprived.

But she does make a mean tomato salad.

Note the garbage collectors. They have their work cut out for them.

“A gift from God. God bless Jazmin” I wanted to ask who she was but didn’t get the chance. Probably his daughter?

I have no idea what a funeral parlor vehicle was doing here. Double duty perhaps.

The guy at the gate checks vehicles not pedestrians. No idea why.
