Random Arizona

Javelina (Tayassu tajacu) also known as collared peccary, are medium-sized animals that look similar to a wild boar. They have mainly short coarse salt and pepper colored hair, short legs, and a pig-like nose. The hair around the neck/shoulder area is lighter in color giving it the look of a collar.
Seen walking through the park where we were moochdocking.

Also celebrated in metal sculptures.

Highway 77 between Mammoth and Globe is extraordinarily scenic and I mention it as the spectacular canyons took all my attention driving them.

iOverlander and it’s useful water filling locations!

We had a great lunch with Bruce and Celia. Why Rusty had to photobomb our souvenir picture I’m not sure. He does hate the camera.

Who needs Walmart for overnights anymore?

We watched the full moon rise over the wilderness of the Sierra Madre Occidental and now we have a mere sliver over the Tonto National Forest.

The colorful mineral slag south of Ajo.

Annoyed dog forced to wait for me to try to catch the light on the leaves.

Cottonwood was too hot for one small brown dog so we paused.

Roosevelt Lake packed with boating fathers on their day.

Arizona: taming the wilderness.

But there is still plenty of open space.

I wish someone would train Mexican road engineers how to pave  tar snakes so they are smooth in the road.

Tucson from I-10. Not the easiest city to navigate for some reason.

I-10 traffic jam between Benson and Tucson caused by wildfires threatening  their direction of travel.

Layne got sappy with me.

We are grateful every day for our pensions. Working on the road, and we’ve talked to a few digital
Nomads, isn’t easy. You can imagine meeting deadlines in this life. This makes twenty years of 911 worth it.
