Rusty In The Jungle

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Layne and I both feel rather homesick today as we had been hoping to find ourselves among travelers sharing this most traditional of holidays instead we are alone in a lovely place. Layne has been preparing the fixings and we shall do our own celebrating aboard GANNET2 in our small corner of home. In this very pretty jungle that is actually a Costa Rican campground.

The swimming pool being refilled with water. It is cold and bracing and highly enjoyable.

We used our reef runner slippers in the pool, footwear we didn’t bring with us at first but we now find indispensable so often at the beach or in rivers or lakes and so forth.

We have met so far three separate Dutch couples in this our first Costa  Rican campground. They are all driving around the country in rented four wheel drive vehicles. They come with full camping gear and a rooftop tent which makes their trips a lot easier to achieve than our long drive down! Your next vacation…

I hope the right teams win and everyone gets the company and the food that makes this day. As far as we are from home this is our day wherever we are. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to You and yours. Thanksgiving and Christmas were two of the 'home sick' times for me when I was in The Service. They tried to make it nice with decorations and good food, but it wasn't home. Be safe.

Happy turkey Day to you. Sorry you were not able to have the traditional US fare. If you are ever back in the US of A 60 mi SE of Washington DC, I'll make you a turkey...or take you out on the boat or go fishing...or all of the above. Enjoy watching your adventures while I am a few years behind you in the retirement phase. My team did not win. :-)
