Apu Eco Lodge Caraz

Our home for the last six days. As usual we never intended to stay so long…

There is a second gate with no roof over it to allow taller vans like our nine foot Promaster to get inside.

With a weird Peruvian peephole in it. Everyone in Peru lives behind closed doors and barred windows. Businesses that look closed may not be shake you knock a medieval peephole opens up.

The street outside:

Rusty enjoys relaxing and sunbathing in the grass. The three campground dogs want to play with him but he is a loner.

We got to park just a few steps from the toilet with hot shower and the kitchen sink where Layne could wash vegetables and I could wash dishes without using our tank water

A German van, a Swiss-Italian van and us.

The idea is to get on the road and start touring elsewhere today. So here are a few pictures of the campground where we spent, much to our surprise six nights here at $11 a night.

We just on the edge of useful range of the campground WiFi do I put the Starlink on the roof and got an excellent signal.

There are cabins and rooms for rent as well.

“You change the world with your example, not with your opinion.”

They used to have a beer bar and pizza nights and campfires but the manager who liked that stuff has since left. People come and go.
