Happy Dawg

Cheyenne has adopted my wife's memory foam yoga pad as her own.She had her usual long walks today involving a lot of rooting around and enjoying her freedom. My back is better though sitting weirdly enough is far more painful than standing. I stood, she walked.
All of which takes it out of a dog. Doctor Edie the Mobile Vet came by yesterday and gave her a clean bill of health, and some medicine to clean up her ears. Today we put her on "her" bed in the bathroom and closed her in while we went downstairs and sat in the sun.
She stayed there without yelping so perhaps being closed in a (relatively) small space keeps her comfortable while we are gone. When I am at home she is quite comfortable thanks taking up the middle of the living room and sprawling.A proper Sunday at home, en famille, with a dog snoring in front of the fire. Except it's too hot for a fire. I don't think she had it this good where she came from.

Good to see Cheyenne is settling in. When I go, I am coming back as a dog in your and Layne's care. Did you decide to keep her name?

We can't think of a replacement, and she answers to Cheyenne so I think we are stuck but Layne is casting around...

Dear Sir:

Cheyenne is a cool name for a dog.

By the way, since I refuse to walk through the yard harvesting dog muffins, Leslie hired a service that does this once a week for $20. She got a note from them saying there would be an extra charge if they were expected to cart the dog muffins away.

Leslie thought that unfair, and was going to dismiss them.

I said, "Sweetie, I can't believe you'd fire someone from a dogshit job like this."

Nice pictures of a happy and satisfied pup.

Fondest regards,

I am not fond of sidecars, and Duchess really likes the air conditoned back seat of the Maxima. If I did take her to town in a hack she would have to sit out in the sun and in the back seat of the Nissan she is secure. I am hoping with time she will be relaxed enough to stay home alone for a few hours without yelping. However the Tropic allows dogs according to my wife the foremer volunteer and we plan on taking her to see Invictus Wednesday evening.
I have been walking her a lot in the wilderness and she is a very particular dog stepping well off the trail to take her dumps so picking uo after her could be worse. $20 to keep the yard clean would be an idea. Have him toss them over the fence to the angry old neighbor.

How delightful to see her settling in so well. I miss my dogs (all long deceased) so, when I see pix such as there. Luckily, I have friends with pooches, so I can get my fix. Then I donate to the homeless dog shelters to assuage my guilt at not adopting another. Someday. When the kids are grown.

PS - Isn't it delightful that it is in the 80s for Xmas? Swimming and boating for all, I say!
