I snapped a few evening pictures from street level of one alternative to watching the sunset at Mallory Square.
Me? I'd rather be up at the top of La Concha with a glass of wine in hand than milling around the chaos of Mallory Square.
La Concha hotel is the tallest structure in Key West and offers splendid views around the city.
I was last up there with a camera almost two years ago and my feelings haven't changed. http://conchscooter.blogspot.com/2009/05/top.html Some people prefer to turn their backs on the scene and talk on the phone. 
It's a long way up to the top from the ground.

I waited up just to watch the message on your blog change. There used to be a time when Friday night meant drinking, carousing, and getting laid. Now I wait for the pictures to change on Key West Diary. Should I start the car in the closed garage?
I'm riding early tomorrow to test my heated gear. The temperature should be in the low 30's.

Dear Jack: I'm sorry you feel suicidal. I feel rather to blame as sitting up all night and not seeing any breasts must make you feel worse. Rest assured there is no nudity scheduled tomorrow either- just a riveting discussion of sub tropical gardening (and iguana murder).
PS. The good news is bobskoot will also being feel pretty suicidal owing to the snow currently blanketing the "Key West of Canada." He's had some pretty tart comments lately and as you can see, even though temperatures are scheduled to drop to near 55 this week, we have no snow at all.

Also, do you have problems with armadillos? My father and I have found them troublesome lately in our gardens and lawns. Mostly in my lawn, which leads me to think I might have a grub problem. I would think they are not as prolific there due to the need to navigate the bridges.
