I read a blog about buying a puppy after deciding to skip the pound as the dogs were too old.
The same sort of consumerist mentality that landed Cheyenne in the pound in the first place.
Lucky me. Three of the best years of my dog owning life.
Good for her too, at last, after a life devoted to people who didn't give a shit about her. Along with all our other problems a world filled with abandoned dogs seems likely to get worse as the economy does too.

"...a world filled with abandoned dogs seems likely to get worse as the economy does too," sadly, true.

She is a lucky dog! If only all were so lucky!
She is lucky, but she still had to spend three weeks at the pound. I wonder what went through her mind. I can't stand it when people make excuses for not saving animals from shelters.
My shelter saved cat (three days from execution)lies across my hands as I try to type this. She's been doing that for seven years. It's her people skills that saved her. When we went to check out the cats she immediately ran to my daughter and jumped on her lap.
