I won't be taking my Crocs to Italy this weekend. I am, and always have been rather disdainful of fashion which, as I was a child of the most fashion conscious society in the world, was always a trial for everyone around me. No need to cause more grief when I go back; I am sure my clunky German Birkenstocks will be bad enough.
I am glad to be able to come home to a place that doesn't much care what one wears, where fashion is as fashion does, not a diktat from someone who thinks they know better and impose their vision on the rest of us. There is much freedom to enjoy at home in the Keys.

They look like 'normal' shoes but feel like Crocs.
I like to think of 'em as stealth Crocs - a compromise for those of us who occasionally deal with the outside world.
Crocs or Birkenstocks who cares? Just have a blast in Italy. Ciao! I envy you.
Have a great trip and enjoy your family! Before you know it you'll be back in your pink crocs and walking you dog where you belong.
Mr Conchscooter:
so when did you decide to conform ? I also have Birkenstocks, Tevas, Chaco, Merrill, Timberland, Salamander but Crocs are so in. you were always the black sheep of the family so why buckle into their wishes now, unless you have been softened by old age
have a good trip, and ride safe

I am looking forward to it, as is my wife. I have downloaded a bunch of pictures by GarytheTourist, three a day, to carry the blog through to August when I will be back.If my iPad cooperates I will try to load some Italian pictures while I'm away.
Have a great trip! I wear a pair of orange crocs here in Montana. It makes me stand out a little as they aren't cowboy boots. I tell people I bought them for hunting (hunters have to wear a certain amount of orange so other hunters can see them, but I don't hunt, I just like my orange crocs).
Look forward to your pictures of Italy!
